Internship Site Information

This section provides Intership Sites with information about our program.

Thank you for your interest in our program and for providing an opportunity
for our students to learn!
For additional information regarding our program, please refer to the FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) section of this site. Thank you again!

1. Internship sites should registered with SAN JOSE STATE'S CAREER CENTER.
The Career Center advertises internships and jobs and holds Job/Internship Fairs on campus several times a year (sponsorships or representation at these fairs is available.) For a California-wide listings for jobs or internships, register your opportunities online at: WWW.CSUMEDIAINTERNS.COM. (There are Northern California and Southern California regional listings.)

2. Provide TRFT Department with information about your internship position.
Please fill out the following form:

Inter Request Request for
Interns
FORM
The information on this form helps us to better understand work requirements and provides potential student interns with site contact information.

3. Once a student is placed with your organization, two documents must be completed (they are available together in the following document:

SJSU Contract

TRFT DEPARTMENT
AND
SJSU UNIVERSITY
CONTRACT

The TRFT Department Contract (one page) is to establish the student assignment with the site.
The University Placement Agreement is kept on file for two years and establishes a formal relationship between SJSU and the outside internship organization. If your internship site has submitted the University Placement Agreement within the last two years, you only have to fill out the department (one page) form.

5. After the site-university relationship is legally established (paperwork is completed), the site is responsible for three simple simple tasks:

  1. Provide relevant work experience for the studen- interns;
  2. Supervise student's work at the internship site;
  3. Evaluate the students upon completion of the internship. This can be
    done by letter or by a SITE EVALUATION FORM provided by the Department.

Thank you for providing a learning opportunity for our students.

IMPORTANT: Interns must be registered for either RTVF198 or TA198 courses WHILE THEY ARE DOING the internship. Retroactive credit is not allowed, according to TRFT Department and SJSU University Policy.
